FOUR PRIDE MEMBERS NAMED TO ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

Weston, Mass.-The National Field Hockey Coaches Association named junior Micaela Lynch (Lyndonville, VT), sophomore Laura Malloy (Windham, NH), junior Maria Mendes (Brockton, Mass.), and junior Maria Pino (Revere, Mass.) to its annual all-academic squad.

The NFHCA recognizes student-athletes that achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher for the first semester of the 2008-09 academic year.

"The field hockey has always been committed to academic excellence," said Head Coach Heather Gilmour.

"Each year we have had several players honored by the National Coaches Association as members of the academic squad."

Gilmour coordinates and oversees the study hall program for all athletic teams for Regis College, while Mendes serves as her student assistant.

The Regis College Field Hockey team picked up its first victory of the 2008 season homecoming weekend against Daniel Webster.
