LASERS ZOOM, PRIDE FALL 7-0

Weston, Mass.-In a battle of the defeated, Lasell College (1-5) notched its first win of the season against a young Regis College (0-4) team Tuesday. Sophomore goalkeeper Erin Norton (Yarmouth, Maine) was responsible for the shutout.

Freshman Natasha Wood (White River, V.T.) opened the game with Lasell's first goal in the opening 2:30. Wood finished the game with two goals, and currently leads the Laser's in goals this season with four.

Assisting Wood was Sarah Jannuzzi (Glen, N.H.), who also had two goals and an assist. Januzzi is first in assists, and second in scoring. The Laser offense was quick, making precise moves to the goal to attempt to score.

Sophomore Hannah Cebry (Burlington, Conn.) and Tia Pratt (S. Paris, Maine) would each score in the first period. Pratt would score off a penalty stroke to the upper left corner of the net, just out of reach for Regis keeper Sara Ankrenud (Groton, Mass.).

Kasey Looney (Leicester, Mass.) scored off an assist from Jannuzzi early in the second period, giving the Laser's a firm hold on the game. She would also be the last Lasell player to score.

The young Regis defense showed individual efforts at stopping the attacking Laser's. Nicole Engrem (Wilmington, Mass.) was tough in the middle of the Pride defense. Victoria Pappas (Niantic, Conn.) and Meghan Robohm (Easton, Mass.) were equally as stout.

Lasell heads to Wheelock College Sept. 24, Regis College will head to The Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Salve Regina Sept. 26.
