Samantha O'Hearn enters her second year with the Regis College sports medicine staff as an assistant athletic trainer.

O'Hearn completed her Master of Science degree in athletic training from Merrimack College in May 2022. During her final semester, she worked at the Micheli Center for Sport Injury Prevention in Norwood, Mass., performing injury prevention screenings, gait analysis, and postural assessments to create therapeutic interventions programs.

In the fall 2021 semester, she worked all practices and games, both home and away, with the Boston College football program, implementing advanced modality application in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries such as marc pro, hivamat, laser, shockwave, and saltwater pod therapy as well as applying prophylactic taping and bracing techniques. During the spring 2021 semester, she worked at Lexington High School in Lexington, Mass., performing concussion evaluations utilizing SCAT 5 and educating parents on signs and symptoms associated with traumatic brain injuries, plus she assisted in revising policies and procedures to include emergency action plan and Covid-19 protocols.

O'Hearn received her Bachelor of Science degree in health science from Merrimack College in December 2020. She is a Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT), a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), and a Licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
