Zancan Named GNAC Player of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. – Junior forward Madi Zancan (Cumberland, R.I.) of Regis College women's basketball has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week, as announced Monday by the conference office.

Zancan posted back-to-back double-doubles, averaging 24.5 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 57.1% from the field. She opened the week with a dominant 26-point, 12-rebound performance, adding six assists in an 87-64 victory over Colby-Sawyer. She followed up with 23 points and 10 rebounds on the road against Johnson & Wales, also contributing two steals and two blocks on the defensive end.

Her efforts helped the #10 seed Pride (6-18, 5-9 GNAC) secure a spot in the first round of the GNAC Tournament, as they travel to face #7 seed Emmanuel College tonight, Monday, Feb. 24 at 6:00 p.m.
