
Taylor and Austin Recieve GNAC Weekly Swim Honors
WINTHROP, Mass. - Thanks to winning performances in leading the Regis College men's and women's swimming and diving team to victory over Albertus Magnus College, Kali Taylor (Brattelboro, Vt.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women Rookie of the Week while Liam Austin (Boston, Mass.) has received GNAC Male Diver of the Week recognition, announced Monday, Jan. 13, by the league office.
Taylor finished first in three events this past weekend including two individual events, followed by the 200 Medley. She placed first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:11.75, and the 100 IM at 1:11.88. She cruised to victory in the 200 Medley posting a group time of 2:12.34.
Austin posted an overall score of 220.375 in the one-meter dives, helping Regis's men to a 76-0 victory over the Falcons. This is the second GNAC Diver of the Week award for Austin this season, as he was previously recognized the week of Oct. 14, 2024.
The Regis College swimming and diving team will travel to face Elms College and Simmons University at Simmons, on Jan. 17, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in Boston.
