Full Day of Pride Athletics Set for Regis Fest 2023

WESTON, Mass. - The Regis College athletics department invites all fans, especially Pride alumni, back to campus for Regis Fest 2023, taking place Saturday, Sept. 30.

Official athletic competition begins at 10 a.m. with the first of three volleyball matches as the Regis women's volleyball team hosts a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tri-match. The Pride will face Simmons University, the team that eliminated Regis from the 2022 GNAC Women's Volleyball Tournament. After a neutral-site match at 12 p.m., Regis returns to the court at 2 p.m. to face league newcomer Mitchell College.

At 11 a.m. the annual Regis Fest tripleheader at Regis Stadium starts with the Pride field hockey team taking on University of Saint Joseph. Regis and USJ finished the 2022 season with identical league marks, and the two squads are expected to play a competitive contest as well this year.

The University of Saint Joseph will also serve as Regis' opponent in women's tennis beginning at 1 p.m. and in women's soccer starting at 1:30 p.m. The Pride women's tennis team is coming off consecutive trips to the GNAC Tournament title match, while the women's soccer program aims to contend for a spot at the top of the conference standings.

The official action concludes with the men's soccer team hosting Albertus Magnus College beginning at 4 p.m. at Regis Stadium. The Pride just earned their first conference victory of the season against Elms and will look to put themselves in position to qualify for this year's GNAC Men's Soccer Tournament.

There will be a tent set up next to the field with a Kids Zone and a Grad Zone from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., a family BBQ lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the GOLD alumni and student pub night beginning at 7 p.m. Also, supporters will have an opportunity to purchase Regis items as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) holds its annual athletics gear sale near the tennis courts.

Several events geared towards alumni are scheduled throughout the day, starting with the softball alumni game at the softball field from 10 to 11:30 a.m. There will be a meet and greet for Regis swimming and diving alumni from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the pool, followed by the alumni athletes and friends affinity gathering at the softball field from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Back inside at Higgins Court from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., alumni of the men's and women's volleyball teams are invited for the annual alumni matches.

Registration for certain events is highly encouraged to ensure the best experience for Regis community members and friends. For further information, visit https://www.regiscollege.edu/regis-life/student-engagement/traditions/regis-fest.
