WESTON, Mass. – The fall has seen several rewritten records for the Regis College athletic teams. Records for field hockey, women’s tennis, and women’s volleyball fell throughout the season.
Aineen Callahan (Diamond Point, N.Y.) made it to the top of the Regis field hockey career goals list when she scored the record-breaking 30th goal of her career in an Oct. 16 field hockey match against Simmons. Callahan scored a hat trick in the match against Simmons, bringing the record to 32. The previous record of 29 career goals held by Caitlin Connolly stood for 14 years.
Senior Katasha Jarvis (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) broke the career record for singles wins on Oct. 4 with a victory in the women’s tennis match against Clark, winning the 46th singles match of her career. Emily Rice, a teammate of Jarvis’s in 2015-16, was the previous record holder with 45 career singles victories. The Pride made it all the way to the semifinals of the GNAC Tournament to cap off their fall season of play.
Finally, junior Katryna Veasey (Quincy, Mass.) recorded 346 kills this season to break the school record for kills in a season. She also now holds the Regis College career kills record at 859 with one year of eligibility remaining.
