Ashleigh Kelley Receives Second Straight GNAC Weekly Award

WINTHROP, Mass. – For the second consecutive week, senior Ashleigh Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, announced Monday afternoon by the league office.

Kelley continues to run with the top competitors, finishing fifth at Saturday's Smith College Invitational. Over a difficult five-kilometer course, she posted a time of 20:02.6, behind only the winner from Franklin Pierce and three Smith runners participating on their home course.

Last week, Kelley picked up the conference's weekly award after a seventh-place finish at the Wellesley College Invitational Sept. 3. She becomes the second Regis student-athlete to be named GNAC Runner of the Week twice in a single season since the program joined the conference, as Molly Curtin accomplished the feat in 2017.

The Regis College cross country teams will next compete at the Elms College Blazer Cross Country Classic in Chicopee, Mass., Saturday, Sept. 25.
