Mann, Boucias Lead Regis Women at Suffolk Invite

BOSTON, Mass. – Maggie Mann (Buzzards Bay, Mass.) and Maddie Boucias (Buckland, Mass.) added to their T-shirt collections by finishing in the top 10, leading the Regis College women's cross-country team to a sixth-place finish at the Suffolk Invitational Friday afternoon at Franklin Park.

Mann enjoyed her highest placement of the season, crossing the finish line in fourth place overall with a five-kilometer time of 20:12. Boucias earned her first top-10 finish of the year, ending up in ninth place overall with a time of 20:36.

Ashleigh Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) was next for the Pride, finishing in 23rd place with a time of 21:32. Erin Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) completed the course in 23:15 to finish in 56th place, followed by Desiree Jones (Oceanside, Calif.) in 87th place in 25:07 and Joelle Bockus (Windham, Maine) in 89th place with a time of 25:18.

As a team, the Pride, one of three squads with two runners in the top 10, collected 160 points for sixth place, four points ahead of seventh-place Emerson. Emmanuel took the team title by three points over Endicott, with Emma Weisse of Suffolk crossing the finish line first in 19:14, a half-minute ahead of her nearest competitor.

Regis will have two weeks to prepare for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championships, taking place Saturday, Oct. 27, at Saint Joseph's College in Standish, Maine.
