PRIDE COMPETE AT NCAA REGIONALS

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Regis College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the 2015 NCAA Division III Regionals at Harkness Park in New London, Conn. on Saturday morning. The Pride men competed in an eight kilometer race while the Pride women ran a six kilometer event.

For the men, New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Year and All-NECC First Team runner Stephen McCall (Brockton, Mass.) was the first member of the team to finish the event, placing 181st with a time of 27:50.8. Fellow freshman and All-NECC Second Team competitor Shane Romanchick (Trumbull, Conn.) completed the race 50 seconds after McCall crossed the finish line with a finishing time of 28:40. Nine second later, junior Matt Norton (Weymouth, Mass.) finished his run with a time of 28:49.8.

All-NECC Second Team runners, Jonathan Paul (Medford, Mass.) and Sam Mildrum (Hingham, Mass.) finished behind each other with times of 29:13.5 and 29:35.9 and newcomers Jordan Dash (Orleans, Mass.) and Denver Bergamin (Marston Mills, Mass.) completed the race in 30:03.3 and 30:36.2

On the women's side freshman All-NECC Second Team runner Andrea O'Hearn (Pelham, N.H.) completed the race in 25:43.0. Molly Curtin (Brockton, Mass.) finished 15 seconds after O'Hearn and was the second Pride woman to cross the finish line with a time of 25:58.6. Sarah Backholm (Sutton, Mass.), Rachel Wood (Manchester N.H.) and Nicole Church (Apex, N.C) also ran the event and finished with times of 27:36.1, 28:33.3 and 31:13.1 respectively.
