PRIDE COMPETE AT CODFISH BOWL

BOSTON – The Regis College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Codfish Bowl at Franklin Park on Saturday morning. The men finished in fifth place while the women finished in 10th.

On the men's side freshman Stephen McCall (Brockton, Mass.) crossed the finish line for the Pride first finishing the eight kilometer race in 27:59 which was good for 23rd place out of 81 competitors. Shane Romanchick (Trumbull, Conn.) finished a minute after his teammate, crossing the finish line in 28:47. Sam Mildrum (Hingham, Mass.) and Matt Norton (Weymouth, Mass.) finished behind each other with times of 30:15 and 30:25 respectively.

Freshman Andrea O'Hearn (Pelham, N.H.) finished the race first for the Pride women by completing the five kilometer event in 21:14 which was good for 61st place out of 161 runners. Siobhan McLaughlin (Derry, N.H.) was the next member of the Pride to cross the finish line as she ran the event in 21:41. Molly Curtin (Brockton, Mass.) was only a few seconds behind her teammate as she completed the race in 21:56.

The Pride return to action in two weeks, for the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State at Stanley Park with the race slated to begin at 10:00 a.m.
