ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The New England Collegiate Conference cross country preseason polls were announced this past weekend, and the Regis men were picked second, while the women were picked third in a vote conducted by the league's coaches. Both teams received two of a possible eight first place votes.
The Pride earned 64 points with the help of two first place votes. The Pride were selected to finish behind six-time defending champion Lesley University, and Elms College. 2013 NECC Rookie of the Year Siobhan McLaughlin (Derry, N.H.) returns after finishing the NECC Championship race in 20:26.29, good for a third place finish.
Lesley grabbed five first place votes in the poll, while Elms grabbed the final first place vote. Following Regis in fourth was Southern Vermont, Mitchell in fifth, Bay Path in sixth, Newbury in seventh, Wheelock in eighth, and Daniel Webster in ninth.
