BOSTON, Mass. – The Regis College men's and women's cross country teams opened their 2014 campaign at the Fens Classic, hosted by Emmanuel College, on Saturday afternoon in Boston, Mass.

On the men's side, senior Owen McQuaid (Marlboro, Mass.) was the top finisher for the Pride, running the course in 18.44. Ray Grasso (Orange, Mass.) also completed the course, finishing with a time of 24:03.

For the women, Sarah Backholm (Sutton, Mass.) was the top runner for Regis, placing 47th with a time of 14:26. Alexa Lucas (Melrose, Mass.) was the next fastest runner, coming in at a time of 15:45, while Diana Tran (Somerville, Mass.) and Rachel Mandeville (Woburn. Mass.) finished right behind each other at 16:19 and 16:35, respectively.

Regis returns to the trails next Saturday when they travel to Trinity College for the Trinity Invitational at 10:00 a.m.
