CROSS COUNTRY ANNOUNCES 2014 COMPETITION SCHEDULE

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College cross country teams have announced their 2014 schedule of competitions. The Pride enter their second year of varsity competition after serving as a club team in 2012.

The Pride will take place in the Fens Classic on August 30 in a meet hosted by Emmanuel College. The Fens Classic was the first-ever meet for the Pride last season, as Jonathan Paul (Medford, Mass.) finished inside the top-50 for the men, and Siobhan McLaughlin (Derry, N.H.) finished ninth in her first career race at the collegiate level.

Regis travels to Trinity College (September 6) and UMass Dartmouth (September 20) in their next two weekends to partake in each school's respective Invitationals. The Pride return to the Blazer Invitational hosted by Elms College on September 27, a race in which Regis had five runners finish inside the top 50 for both teams.

On Saturday, October 4, the Pride head to Bethlehem, Pa. for the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University. Regis returns back to the region on October 11 when they travel to Westfield State University for the James Early Invitational at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass. McLaughlin placed 23 out of 361 runners in 2013's Invite, while Paul set a new school record in the event.

In a shortened week, Regis will travel to Franklin Park for the second time in 2014 when they run in the Saints Invite hosted by Emmanuel College. In 2013, McLaughlin had one of her strongest races, coming in 6th place out of 230 runners, while her classmate Matt Norton (Weymouth, Mass.) was the top finisher for the men.

The NECC Championship will take place on November 1 as the Pride are in search of their first-ever title at the event. Last season, McLaughlin and Norton were named the NECC Rookies of the Year in their respective races, while head coach Dan Flynn was honored as the NECC Coach of the Year in men's cross country.

The following week the Pride will participate in the ECAC Championships on November 8 at Roger Williams University, with the NCAA Regional meet at Williams College on November 15.
