PRIDE RUN WELL AT ECAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

NEWPORT, R.I. – The Regis College men's and women's cross country teams both competed at the ECAC Championships on a chilly but sunny Saturday afternoon at Colt State Park in Bristol, R.I.

On the men's side, Jonathan Paul (Medford, Mass.) broke the Regis College record for males in a five mile race with his time of 28:51, good for 149th place out of 327 runners. NECC Rookie of the Year Matt Norton (Weymouth, Mass.) finished seven spots behind Paul with a time of 28:56. Both runners set new personal bests in the race.

As she has done all year, NECC Rookie of the Year Siobhan McLaughlin (Derry, N.H.) dominated the course, finishing 65th out of the 327 runner field with a time of 24:46. McLaughlin was the top runner in the ECAC meet to come from the New England Collegiate Conference. Captain Sarah Schow (Southborough, Mass.) also ran for the Pride and finished with a time of 28:21.

Regis wraps up the 2013 season next Saturday with the NCAA Regional meet at the University of Southern Maine at 11:00 a.m.
