PRIDE RACE AT 42ND POP CROWELL INVITATIONAL

WENHAM, Mass. - The Regis College cross country teams competed at the 42nd Pop Crowell Invitational hosted by Gordon College on Saturday morning. The men competed in an 8k course, while the women ran a 5k course. 

Led by freshman Siobhan McLaughlin's (Derry, N.H.) time of 21:00, the women were able to capture a ninth place finish out of seventeen teams at the event. McLaughlin raced to an impressive tenth place individual finish out of 177 runners to lead the Pride on the day. Junior Rachel Wong (Wakefield, Mass.) came in next for Regis, just 53 seconds after McLaughlin. Senior captain Sarah Schow (Southborough, Mass.) rounded out the top three performances for the Crimson & Gold with a time of 23:59.

Junior S.K. (Waltham, Mass.) (26:09) and freshman Kylie Homem (Peabody, Mass.) (29:43) also ran well for Regis.

On the men's side, all three Regis runners on the day placed in the top 100 out of over 150 total participants. Sophomore Jonathan Paul (Medford, Mass.) paced the Pride with a 30:26 finish, which was 1:12 faster than his time at the Daniel Webster Invite. FreshmanMatt Norton (Weymouth, Mass.) and junior Owen McQuaid (Marlboro, Mass.) came in not far behind, as they crossed the finish line in 30:59 and 34:09, respectively.

Regis will be back on the trails next Saturday morning as they travel to Chicopee State Park for the Blazer Invite at 10:00 a.m.
