PRIDE RACE AT DANIEL WEBSTER INVITATIONAL

NASHUA, N.H. - The Regis College men's and women's cross country teams raced to fourth and fifth place finishes, respectively, at the Daniel Webster Cross Country Invitational on Friday afternoon. The men competed in an 8k event and picked up 71 points, while the women ran a 5k course and scored 120 points.

The men were paced by freshman Matt Norton (Weymouth, Mass.) and sophomore Jonathan Paul (Medford, Mass.), who cracked the top ten of individual finishes with times of 31:15 and 31:32, respectively. Not far behind was junior Owen McQuaid (Marlboro, Mass.), who completed the course in 32:01.

Other performances for the men included a 33:54 finish by junior Jeremy Israel (Randolph, Mass.) and sophomore Ray Grasso's (Orange, Mass.) time of 39:49.

Freshman Siobhan McLaughlin (Derry, N.H.) cruised to a second place individual finish out of 50 runners to lead the Regis women. Juniors S.K. (Waltham, Mass.) (24:06) and Krysten Sheppard (Medford, Mass.) (27:13) were the next to come in for the Pride.

Freshman Kylie Homem (Peabody, Mass.) ran the course in 28:05, while sophomore Stephanie Cruz-Santos (Brockton, Mass.) finished with a time of 34:03 to round out the Regis runners.

Both teams will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 21 as they compete at the Pop Crowell Invitational at Gordon College, with race time kicking off at 10:00 a.m.
