Regis Volleyball Extends Winning Streak to Six

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College women's volleyball team extended its winning streak to six matches as it cruised past Lesley University, 3-0 (25-5, 25-7, 25-11), Tuesday night in a non-conference contest at Higgins Court.

During the first set, Emily Fagundo (Dover, N.H.) became the 10th player in program history to reach the 500-assist mark for her career, setting up Ahnasia Mckinney (Chelmsford, Mass.) for a kill to give the Pride a 7-1 lead. Fagundo finished the set with 14 assists, half of them helping Mckinney go 7-for-7 on attack attempts.

Kate Montigny (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and Olivia Pacheco (Waterford, Conn.) each collected five kills, with Pacheco also notching four service aces. As a team, the Pride earned 19 service aces, led by Aryam Serrano-Monserrate (Lake Forest, Calif.) with five aces.

Lesley was led by Megan Lorenze with three kills and two service aces, plus she also finished with two digs. Defensively, Sacha Porter led the Lynx with a match-high six digs.

The Pride posted a .475 hitting percentage in the contest as they made just seven attack errors in 59 attempts. It is the highest team hitting percentage for Regis since at least 2010, surpassing the previous high of .435 established against Anna Maria Oct. 17, 2018.

Regis College (6-3) opens conference play Saturday, Sept. 25, with a tri-match at Higgins Court, as the Pride will face Anna Maria at 9 a.m. and Emmanuel at 11 a.m. Lesley (0-7) is scheduled to host Anna Maria Wednesday, Sept. 22, beginning at 8 p.m.
