WESTON, Mass. – For the second time this season, Marilia Ramos (Chimbote, Peru) has been honored by the New England Collegiate Conference by being named Rookie of the Week for women's volleyball, as announced by the conference offices yesterday morning. The sophomore defensive specialist led the Pride, who have won six straight matches, to a three win week.

Ramos dished out 85 assists and added 27 digs in her team's three matches. She recorded 28 assists and nine digs in a 3-2 win over Daniel Webster on Wednesday night. On Thursday, the rookie registered 20 assists and three digs in two sets of a 3-0 sweep over Pine Manor. In her final game of the week, a 3-2 win over Mitchell, Ramos recorded 37 assists, 15 digs, three service aces, and two block assists.

The Pride have clinched the third seed in the upcoming NECC Tournament and will host Mitchell on Wednesday, October 31 at 8:00 p.m. for an NECC Quarterfinal match. The winner will move on to the NECC Semifinals on Friday and will face Newbury at Southern Vermont College.
