SHARKS DOWN PRIDE 3-0

WESTON, Mass.-The Regis College women's volleyball team was defeated Friday night at the Teresa Higgins court by Simmons College by the score of 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-20) The Pride moves to 5-14 on the season, while the visiting Sharks move to 15-4 on the season.

The Sharks came out in the first set with a 15-5 lead under the strong play of Meaghan Flynn (Laguna Beach,   Calif.) who guided the Sharks with a team high of 12 kills. The Pride was led by Julie Endara (Boca Raton, Fla.) who notched eight kills and eight digs. The Pride rallied late in the first set under Caitlyn Walsh (Taunton, Mass.) who chipped in with two serve aces but this solid performance was not enough as the Sharks finished the first set with a victory tallying the game point at 25-18.

The Sharks continued the Strong play taking the second set 25-18. Rachel Dufault (Westport, Mass.) tallied a team high in assists with 30, while teammate Megan Chamberlin (Milford, Mass.) captured a team high of 18 digs. The Pride was helped out Walsh and Gold who combined for 17 assists and 19 digs on the game.  Vanessa Noesi (Methuen, Mass.) led the Pride in blocks with six.
 
The Pride opened the third set going up 2-0. The Sharks battled back to equalize the score at 3-3 under the strong serving of Sandy Lor (Fitchburg, Mass). This would not last long as the Pride answered with three serve aces from Sara Gold (North Hollywood, Calif.) to give the Pride the lead. The Sharks would battle back to take the lead halfway in the set to go up 11-8. The Sharks would go up late in the set to finish the game at 25-20
 
The Crimson and Gold return to action Saturday when they travel to New London, Connecticut to take on the Mariners from Mitchell College. The Sharks return to the court Thursday when they travel to Boston, Massachusetts to take on the Lions from Emerson College.
