PRIDE FALLS TO GATORS 3-0

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.-The Regis College women's volleyball team was defeated by Pine Manor College Wednesday night at the Pine Manor Athletic Center by the score of 3-0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-16). The Pride moves to 4-12 overall on the season, while the Gators move to 9-0 on the season.

The Pride was led by Domingas Gomes (Brockton, Mass.) who paced the Prides offense notching seven kills. Gomes finished the match with four digs and two blocks. The Pride's defense was led by Sara Gold (Los Angeles, Calif.) who tallied seven digs on the night.

The Pride came out early in the first set going up by five points, but the Gators rallied back after falling behind early. The Gators rallied behind five kills from Gross and four kills from junior Alie Johnsotn (Winnipeg, Canada) to take a 26-24 set victory. Johnston finished the match with nine total kills. Johnston tied with freshmen Amy Keokanlaya (Walls, MS) for the team lead in digs with 10.
 
The Pride's Megan Pratt (Rockland, Mass.) grabbed a team high in sets with 15, while sophomore Julie Endara (Boca Raton, Fla.) chipped in with six kills and four digs.
The Gators continued to play well through the next two sets and took control in attacks, hitting an average of .360. The Gators would take the second set with a decisive 25-19 victory and took the game in the third set with a 25-16 victory.
The Gators were led by senior Jen Gross (Coral Springs, Fla.) who totaled a team high 15 kills.  Sophomore Megan Patch (Bethpage, Tenn.) finished the match with 28 set assists and two services aces of her own. Freshmen Kayla Ulery (Goose Creek, S.C.), Destiny Mann (Orlando, Fla.) and sophomore Ashley Carusone (Nashua, N.H.) finished the match with three kills apiece.
The Crimson and Gold return to action Saturday when they travel to Nashua, New Hampshire to take on the Eagles from Daniel Webster College. Pine Manor will resume conference play this weekend when it travels to Northfield, Vt. for a GNAC tri-match with host Norwich and Emerson College. The Gators as scheduled to take on Norwich at noon before doing battle with Emerson at 2 p.m.
