PRIDE FALLS AT FDU TRI-MATCH

Weston, Mass. ---The Regis College women’s volleyball team traveled to Fairleigh Dickinson University Saturday (Sept. 25) to play a tri-match.  The Pride participated in matches between, Union, Fairleigh Dickinson, and Arcadia University.  The Pride currently stands at 4-13 overall on the season and stand 0-2 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.

The Pride played their first match against Union College, losing to the Dutchwomen in three sets.  Leading the Pride in registered kill was Julie Endara (Boca Raton, Fla. /Boca Raton) who had a team high of five. Senior Randi Garrity (Reading, Mass./ Reading memorial) had a strong performance against the Dutchwomen registering 12 assists and a kill in the match.

The Pride faced Fairleigh Dickinson University in their second game of the tri-match tournament.  The Pride played the Devils in three sets and lost by the score of 25-13, 25-17, and 25-7.  Leading the Pride was freshman Sara Gold (North Hollywood Calif. / Notre Dame) who registered 13 digs for the game. Senior Meghan McCarty (Billerica, Mass. /Billerica) led the team in registered kills with five on the match.

The Final contest of the tri-match for the Pride was against Arcadia University.  The Pride was able to play the Knights in three games but could not force a fourth.  The Pride fell by the score of 25-12, 25-23, and 25-17.  Leading the Pride was senior Randi Garrity (Reading, Mass. /Reading Memorial) who registered 18 assists.  Freshman Sara Gold (North Hollywood, Calif. /Notre Dame) played well registering 16 digs for the pride.

The Pride is set to travel to Elms College Wednesday (Sept. 29) at 7:00 pm.
