Regis Indoor Season Concludes at New England Division III Championships

BOSTON – Two school records fell as members of the Regis College track and field team wrapped up the 2022-23 indoor season at the New England Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships held Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24-25, at The TRACK at New Balance.

Friday night, the quartet of Libby Parker (Bow, N.H.), Abby Kilbride (Peabody, Mass.), Annabelle Jean-Philippe (Randolph, Mass.), and Erin Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) broke the school record in the distance medley relay with an overall time of 13:51.90, over four seconds faster than the previous standard established at Springfield College Jan. 25, 2020.

Saturday, Ashleigh Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) once again lowered her school record time in the one mile run, finishing 16th overall with a time of 5:15.63, 0.43 seconds quicker than the time she posted on the same track during the Suffolk Invitational Jan. 14. Kelley also finished 20th overall in the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:42.42.

In the men's 4x400 meter relay, the team of Riley Stogsdill (San Diego, Calif.), Zachary Olayiwole (Marlborough, Mass.), Chris Margiatto (Suffield, Conn.), and Benjamin Happenny (Woonsocket, R.I.) completed the event with an overall time of 3:35.40, winning their heat by a half-second over Fitchburg State.

Justin Thuotte (Lebanon, Conn.) completed the two-day heptathlon in 12th place with a total score of 3,266 points. He posted personal season-best marks in the shot put at 9.48 meters (31' 1.25"), in the pole vault after clearing 3.25 meters (10' 8"), and in the 1000 meter run with a time of 3:18.15.

Also in field events over the weekend, Conrad Kalinowski (London, England) finished 15th in the pole vault after clearing 4.19 meters (13' 9"), and Anastazia Copeland (West Hartford, Conn.) posted a mark of 11.38 meters (37' 4") in the weight throw.

The Regis College track and field team will now start preparing for the outdoor season, with its first competition taking place in one month at the Bridgewater State Bears Invitational Saturday, Mar. 25, beginning at 10 a.m.
