Women's Tennis Dominates St. Vincent In Spring Break Finale

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Regis (Mass.) women's tennis team completed a perfect 4-0 record on its 2017 spring break trip, cruising to an 8-1 win over St. Vincent College Friday at the USTA National Campus.

The Pride improve to 14-1 on the season with the Bearcats falling to 7-9.

Doubles play saw Regis take a 2-1 lead after comfortable wins in first and second singles. Jessie Lord (Fall River, Mass.) and Erica Murphy (Portsmouth, N.H.) were the second to finish, tying the match with an 8-1 win over the Bearcat pair of Maria Gismondi (St. Marys, Pa.) and Anita Onufer (Pittsburg, Pa.). First doubles team Katasha Jarvis (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) and Ariana McCormack (Worcester, Mass.) gave the Pride the lead heading to singles play after converting on their seventh match point to win 8-3.

The Pride won every singles match, clinching the win on the No. 4 court with Jarvis's 6-1, 6-0 win over Tori Monstrola (Pittsburg, Pa.). Regis won every singles match in straight sets which included a love set on each court.

Regis now returns home and will retake the court Mar. 25 at home against Smith College.
