REGIS STAYS UNBEATEN IN NECC, DOWN LYNX

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College women's tennis team moved to a perfect 6-0 in New England Collegiate Conference matches with an 8-1 win over Lesley University on Tuesday night in Weston, Mass. The Pride improve to 7-1 overall with the victory, while Lesley drops to 2-9 overall and 2-4 in league matches.

The Pride made quick work of the Lynx in doubles play as Regis jumped out to a 3-0 lead by sweeping all three matches. Jewel Medeiros (Rochester, Mass.) and Amy DiPace (Cambridge, Mass.) defeated Courtney Goggin (Cheshire, Conn.) and Hannah Levensailor (Ayer, Mass.) at No. 3 doubles, 8-0. Emily Rice (Pittsfield, Mass.) and Katasha Jarvis (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) followed suit with an 8-0 sweep of Diana Watson (Cambridge, Mass.) and Frances De Leon (Murrieta, Calif.) at No. 2 doubles.

The tandem of Jessie Lord (Fall River, Mass.) and Erica Murphy (Portsmouth, N.H.) rounded out doubles play with an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles over Caroline Kiddie (Scituate, Mass.) and Theresa Pereira (Hopedale, Mass.).

In single play, Lord defeated De Leon, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, while Jewel Medeiros defeated Rosie Heller (State College, Pa.) by a matching score at No. 5 singles. Emily Rice and Katasha Jarvis each posted 6-0, 6-1 wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively.

The Pride's Sara Kanarkiewicz (Peabody, Mass.) fought off Courtney Goggin for a 6-3, 7-5 victory at No. 6 singles. Lesley grabbed their lone point of the day at No. 1 singles as Caroline Kiddie rallied back from a 6-4 setback in the opening set to post a 4-6, 6-2, 10-5 victory over Erica Murphy.

Regis returns to action on Thursday afternoon when they host Bay Path University in a 4:30 p.m. NECC contest if weather permits. Lesley travels to Curry College on Sunday afternoon for a 12:00 p.m. non-league match.
