Regis Women’s Soccer Recognized for Academic Performance

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the third consecutive year and the 12th time in program history, the Regis College women's soccer program has been recognized by United Soccer Coaches for its academic performance with the Team Academic Award, announced Thursday by the national coaches' organization.

Regis College is one of 644 collegiate women's soccer teams to earn the Team Academic Award for posting a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2018-19 academic year. Under head coach Mike Webber, the Pride compiled a composite GPA of 3.53 during the 2018-19 academic year, the same grade point average that earned the squad the award for the 2017-18 academic campaign.

Regis is one of eight women's soccer programs representing the Great Northeast Athletic Conference in receiving the award, along with Albertus Magnus (3.27), Colby-Sawyer (3.23), Emmanuel (3.64), Johnson & Wales (3.48), Saint Joseph's College (3.39), Simmons (3.72), and Suffolk (3.24). The Pride posted the third-highest GPA among the award-winning teams.

Thanks to the women's soccer team's 3.53 GPA, they also received the Judith W. Burling Team Award for Academic Excellence this past April during the Athletic Awards Ceremony.

Regis College, coming off an overtime victory at Simmons Wednesday, heads to University of St. Joseph to face the Blue Jays Saturday, Oct. 5, for a 12 p.m. kickoff.
