Winter 2022 Senior Spotlight - Women’s Basketball

WESTON, Mass. – Prior to the final regular season home game of the 2021-22 season against Norwich Feb. 17, the seniors within the Regis College women's basketball team were recognized for their significant contributions to the program.

Yvelande Donis (Randolph, Mass.) appeared in 34 career games, including 22 games this past season for the Pride, featuring five starts. In the season opener against UMass Dartmouth Nov. 11, she hit all three of her field goal attempts as she finished with six points, two rebounds, one assist, and two steals. She pulled down five offensive rebounds during the team's victory at Dean Feb. 5. On Feb. 15 against Lasell, she matched her season high with six points in the team's victory over the Lasers. Donis again scored six points in the team's GNAC Tournament quarterfinal victory over University of Saint Joseph Feb. 23, plus she collected three steals. Donis received her bachelor's degree in exercise science.

Shannon Kelley (Quincy, Mass.) was one of the team captains for the 2021-22 season. She played in 72 career games, including 36 starts. This past season, she started all 22 games for the Pride, averaging 4.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. On Dec. 4, Kelley went 5-for-7 from behind the three-point line to finish with a career-high 15 points in the team's victory over Elms. She hit three long distance shots and ended up with 11 points to key the Pride's one-point victory over Johnson & Wales Feb. 7. Kelley closed out the regular season with seven points and four rebounds in the team's victory at Colby-Sawyer Feb. 19. Kelley received her bachelor's degree in nursing in May.

Lauren Lividoti (Medford, Mass.) joined the Pride basketball program this season and was a valuable contributor in practice and when called upon during game action. She appeared in 10 games this past season for Regis, averaging 9.2 minutes per game. She played 14 minutes during the January 20 game at Anna Maria, scoring four points and collecting two rebounds during the Pride's victory. Lividoti played a season-high 23 minutes at Dean February 5, contributing two rebounds and one assist to the winning effort. Lividoti graduated with her bachelor's degree in nursing.

Marissa Prall (Hopkinton, Mass.) appeared in 61 career games during her collegiate career, including 14 starts. In 2018-19, her first season with the program, she was chosen as Regis' representative on the GNAC Women's Basketball All-Sportsmanship Team. On Dec. 7, 2019, she scored a career-high 16 points at Eastern Nazarene. Early in the 2021-22 season, Marissa scored 13 points and collected four steals during the team's victory over Dean College Dec. 1. A two-time Academic All-GNAC honoree majoring in sport management, Marissa participated in the "So You Want to Be a Coach" program during the WBCA Convention in Minneapolis.

Arie Searcy (Santa Rosa, Calif.) played in 73 career games for the Pride, starting 61 of those contests. She was a Third Team All-GNAC selection after the 2019-20 season as she averaged 10.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. This past season, she contributed 8.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game. In a one-point win at Anna Maria Jan. 20, Searcy finished with 15 points, 16 rebounds, six assists, two steals, and three blocks. Searcy is fourth on the Regis career blocks list with 76 rejections, plus she was fourth in the GNAC this past season with 1.7 blocks per game. A two-time Academic All-GNAC honoree, Searcy received her bachelor's degree in exercise science.

Valerie Whalen (Stoughton, Mass.) contributed in both volleyball and basketball as well as to the Regis community, as she was selected as one of the recipients of the Regis-Casserly Award. This past season, she appeared in 19 games, including 12 starts, and averaged 7.5 points as well as a team-high 9.9 rebounds per game. Whalen reached double figures in scoring seven times, with a career-high 13 points at Elms Jan. 22 and at Colby-Sawyer Feb. 19. She also grabbed nine or more rebounds in each of her last 10 games, with a high of 18 rebounds in Regis' victory over University of Saint Joseph Jan. 28. She received her bachelor's degree in early education and psychology and plans to return for one more year of competition.

The Regis College women's basketball team completed the 2021-22 season with a 13-9 overall record, including an 11-3 mark within the conference. The Pride advanced to the semifinals of the GNAC Tournament after defeating University of Saint Joseph in the quarterfinals Feb. 23.
