WESTON, Mass. – New banners signifying the retired numbers of Regis Athletics Hall of Fame members Julie Rando Ranucci '94 and Jen Erickson Baker '95 were unveiled during a special Women's Basketball Tribute Ceremony held at halftime of the Pride game Saturday, Nov. 23.

With numerous family members, former teammates, and friends forming a semi-circle around them, Ranucci and Baker stood on the court as their accomplishments were recounted. They then observed the unveiling of the banners, showing Ranucci's #12 and Baker's #21 in gold on a white uniform top placed on a red banner similar to the banners used to list the conference championships within Higgins Court.

Before the ceremony, the Regis Athletics Department and Office of Institutional Advancement hosted a reception within the athletics weight room. The honorees joined their family and friends for a social gathering, reconnecting with people they had not seen in years and talking about their memories of matriculating at Regis College.

Ranucci, the recipient of the 1994 Mother Regis Award, was part of three conference championships in four years as her teams posted an overall record of 73-28 (.723). She is third on the Regis all-time scoring list with 1,632 points, averaging a school-record 20.24 points per game during the 1992-93 season. Ranucci also holds the two highest single-season steal marks in program history with 132 steals in 1992-93 and 123 steals in 1993-94.

Baker helped her teams to an overall mark of 77-26 (.748) as she scored 1,108 career points, 11th on the Regis all-time scoring list. She is also third on the career assists list with 341 and second on the career steals list with 276. Baker continues to hold the school records for most assists per game in a single season (4.59 apg in 1994-95) and most steals in a single game (13 vs. Wentworth Feb. 6, 1993).

In addition to the tribute ceremony, members of the 1998-99 women's basketball team were on hand as the 20th anniversary of the squad's trip to Ireland was acknowledged. A photo gallery of the reception and ceremony accompany this story on GoRegisPride.com.
