WINTHROP, Mass. – After averaging 16.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game during a three-game week for Regis College, freshman Pam Gonzalez (Revere, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, announced by the league office Monday.

In addition, Gonzalez has picked up her second Rookie of the Week honor from the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA), as that organization released its weekly award winners and honor roll Tuesday.

Last Monday in Regis' 20-point win over Wentworth, Gonzalez notched her first career double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds, plus four assists, two steals, and two blocked shots. She followed up on Thursday against Framingham State with a career-high 20 points, aided by five three-pointers, including three in the third quarter, to go with six rebounds. She capped the week on Saturday by playing a season-high 38 minutes at Eastern Nazarene, registering 16 points, six boards and three steals.

Through the Pride's first 11 games of the season, Gonzalez leads the team with 12.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.6 steals per game. She is seventh in the GNAC in steals per game, 12th in rebounds per game, and 17th in points per game. Gonzalez has started seven straight games, playing at least 30 minutes in each of those contests as Regis has gone 5-2 during that span.

Gonzalez becomes the first Regis player to receive multiple GNAC Rookie of the Week honors in a single season since the Pride joined the conference for the 2017-18 season. In 2017-18, Brittany Stone was named GNAC Player of the Week six times.

Regis will bring a 5-6 overall record into consecutive non-conference home games against Becker Thursday, Jan. 2, at 12 p.m. and against Brandeis Saturday, Jan. 4, at 2 p.m.
