GORHAM, Maine. – Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) notched her sixth double double with 24 points and 12 rebounds but it came in a losing effort as the Regis (Mass.) women's basketball team fell 67-64 in overtime at Southern Maine, Saturday at Fifield Court.

Stone led the way for the Pride (4-4) who saw its win streak snapped at four games. Sam D'Angelo (Woburn, Mass.) stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, nine rebounds and seven assists with Shannon Hayes (Billerica, Mass.) adding 16 points and three assists.

Kristen Curley finished with a game-high 27 points on 11-for-20 shooting from the field, adding five rebounds, four steals, four blocked shots and an assist. Emily Nicholson had an outstanding all-around game scoring 18 points, grabbing seven rebounds, passing off four assists and coming up with two steals. Sophomore Chantel Eells (Turner, Maine) chipped in with 11 points and seven rebounds.  

The Pride looked prime to close the year on a high note but went cold from the field late in the fourth quarter. D'Angelo's layup with 3:37 to play put Regis up 55-50 but a subsequent 8-0 Husky run helped push the game to overtime. Regis had a look at the basket to hit the game-winner as time expired, but Curley came up big with one of her four blocks in the game. 

In the overtime period, USM scored the first five points on layups form Curley and Eells and one of two free throws from Nicholson. The Pride cut their deficit to a single point, 64-63, with 44 seconds to play on a three from junior Maura Russell (Braintree, Mass.) and a short jumper from Stone; however, USM junior Alexa Srolivitz (Montreal, Quebec) halted the Pride run with a tough elbow-jumper in traffic on the Huskies' next possession for her only field goal of the game. From there each team exchanged free throws for the 67-64 final. 

USM shot 43.5 percent (27-for-62) from the field for the game, but struggled from the free throw line hitting just 9-of-21. Regis shot 42.9 percent (27-for-63) from the field, but was hampered by 22 turnovers compared to USM's 11. The Huskies' scored 18 of their points off of Regis turnovers in the game. 

Regis returns to action Tuesday, Jan. 2, hosting Brandeis for a 6:00 p.m. tipoff. USM returns to action one day later when it travels to Husson.
