Stone Named NECC, NEWBA Player of the Week for Second Time

ATTLEBORO, Mass.Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.), a junior forward on the Regis (Mass.) women's basketball team, has been named both the New England Women's Basketball Association and the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Stone collected a pair of double-doubles on the week to help Regis to a 3-0 NECC record. In two of the games the junior finished with over 20 points, while averaging 23.7 points and 11 rebounds for the week. Stone's best game came on Saturday against Daniel Webster, when she tallied 27 points and 16 rebounds, while shooting 63.8 percent from the field.

The award is Stone's second such honor already in the young 2016-2017 season, as she also received the award on Nov. 21, when she was also named to the New England Women's Basketball Association Weekly Honor Roll.

Stone and the rest of the Pride will return to action in two weeks when they take on Cal Lutheran in the Las Vegas Hoopla Tournament in Las Vegas, Nev. on Dec. 20. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. (ET).
