Stone Nabs NECC Player of Week for Third Time

ATTLEBORO, Mass. - For the third time already this season, Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.), a junior forward on the Regis (Mass.) women's basketball team, has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week.

Stone averaged 17.8 points per game in the past five games, while she collected 8.2 rebounds per game. Her best performance came against St. Joseph’s (ME), when she tallied 21 points and 13 rebounds. The junior had two double-doubles over the final stretch of 2016 and the start of the New Year.

In addition, the junior currently sits just five points shy of 1,000 for her collegiate career. If she accomplishes the feat, she will be the 16th 1,000-point scorer in program history.

She will get her next chance to hit the milestone on Tuesday night when her Pride takes on Bay Path University in NECC action. Tip-off for the matchup is slated for 6:00 p.m.
