STONE NAMED NECC'S TOP ROOKIE, SANTA FE COACH OF THE YEAR

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College freshman Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference's Rookie of the Year, it was announced on Monday morning by the league offices. Head Coach Angela Santa Fe was named the NECC Coach of the Year for the second-straight season after leading the Pride to another 18-0 NECC regular season and the program's third-straight NECC Championship.

Three players were named to the All-Conference teams, highlighted by Amanda Hawkesworth's (Abington, Mass.) All-NECC First Team selection. The senior duo of Emilee Marro (Bedford, N.H.) and Janaya Bradley (New Haven, Conn.) were recognized on the All-Conference Second Team.

Santa Fe led the Pride to their fourth-straight season of 20+ wins as the Pride went 22-5 this year. Since joining the NECC in 2011, Regis has won 72-straight NECC regular season games including all 18 contests this year by an average margin of 36.9 points per game. Santa Fe has posted a 45-10 record since taking over the program last season.

Brittany Stone was named the NECC Rookie of the Week a record eight times this season. In her first season with the Pride, Stone leads them in scoring at 15 points per game, and is second on the team in rebounding at 9.2 boards per game. She ranks in the top six in the NECC in both categories, while leading the league in field goal percentage at 55.3%. Stone finished second in the league in blocks per game (1.3) and her 30 blocks overall rank fifth in the league. Stone was also named the ECAC Rookie of the week two times.

Amanda Hawkesworth earned her first All-NECC honor by making the All-Conference First Team. Hawkesworth averaged 14.9 points per game and led the Pride with 9.5 rebounds per game while ranking second on the team with 2.8 assists per game. She ranked third in the NECC in rebounding, seventh in scoring, and eighth in assists. Her 42 steals on the year were the 14th best total in the league. Hawkesworth was named the NECC Player of the Week three times, the ECAC Player of the Week once, and was named to the NEWBA Honor Roll one week.

For the fourth-straight season, Emilee Marro was named to an All-Conference Team, earning an Honorable Mention nod her freshman year and back-to-back First Team selections in her sophomore and junior campaigns. The senior co-captain ranks fourth on the team in scoring (12.3 ppg), third in rebounding (5.0 rpg), and led the team in both assists (3.7 apg) and steals (2.3 spg), as well as three point field goals made (36). Marro currently ranks third all-time in Regis program history with 1,358 points. This past weekend, Marro was named to the NECC All-Tournament Team for the third-consecutive year, and was named the Tournament MVP for a second time. Marro was named to the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week once this season and was this past week's NECC Player of the Week.

Janaya Bradley grabbed her second-straight All-Conference selection after an Honorable Mention nod in 2014. Bradley joined the Pride's 1,000 point club in the regular season finale and is already tied for 10th all-time in program history with 1,033 career points. This season, Bradley averaged 12.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.3 steals, 0.9 blocks per game. Bradley scored in double-figures in 16 games this season, including 20 points in the NECC Championship game where she was named to the All-Tournament Team. Bradley was named the NECC Player of the Week and named to the NEWBA Weekly Honor Roll one time this season.

The Crimson and Gold have earned their third-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament and will find out their opponent on Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in the selection show on NCAA.com.
