CRIMSON AND GOLD SWEEP NECC WEEKLY HONORS

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College's Emilee Marro (Bedford, N.H.) and Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) swept the New England Collegiate Conference's women's basketball weekly awards this week, it was announced on Monday. Marro was named the NECC Player of the Week for the first time, while Stone was named the league's top rookie for the eighth time this season.

For the second straight year Marro was named the MVP of the NECC Championship tournament as she averaged 12 points in leading the Pride (22-5) to its third straight title. Marro hauled in 13 rebounds, dished out five assists, made five steals and added a block while averaging 35 minutes each game. Marro finished her senior season averaging 12.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, a career-best 3.7 assists and 2.3 steals per game.

Stone was a rebounding machine in the NECC Championship game grabbing 18 caroms (15 in the first half alone). She had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds in the Pride's semi-final win over Mitchell College, and added six points to go along with her rebounding total in the championship. Stone also added four blocks during the week with three coming in the title game. Stone led Regis averaging a team-high 15.0 points while shooting an NECC best 55.3% from the field while hauling in 9.2 rebounds and swatted 1.3 shots per game.
