REGIS TAKES CONTROL EARLY, ROLLS PAST LESLEY

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Regis College sprinted past Lesley University 90-22 in New England Collegiate Conference action tonight at the Nicholas Athletic Center. The win marks the Pride's 70th consecutive NECC regular season win as they improve to 18-5 on the season and remain a perfect 16-0 in the conference. The Lynx drop to 1-22 overall and 1-15 in the NECC.

The Pride were in control from the get-go as they raced out to a 22-4 lead over the first eight minutes of action. Freshman Brittany Stone (W. Bridgewater, Mass.) was at the head of the charge as she recorded 12 points during the streak.

Regis kept their foot on the gas in the final twelve minutes of the opening stanza as they went into the locker room with a 45-4 lead. Stone led all players in the first with 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting while sophomore Amanda Hawkesworth (Abington, Mass.) added ten in the half.

Regis shot the ball well in the first as they hit on 51-percent (19-of-37) of their shot attempts while holding the Lynx to just 12-percent (2-of-17) from the floor. The Pride also forced 20 first half Lynx turnovers that turned into 23 points for the guests.

The Pride finished the game shooting 47-percent (36-of-76) on the night while shooting 37-percent (7-of-19) from beyond the arc. Regis out-rebounded the Lesley by a 47-29 margin and used 21 offensive rebounds to supply 12 second chance points.

Stone and Hawkesworth led the Pride with 19 points apiece while Hawkesworth finished one rebound shy of a double-double, corralling a game-best nine rebounds. Senior Emilee Marro (Bedford, N.H.) added 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting and dished out five assists while sophomore Mikayla Murphy (Attleboro, Mass.) finished with six points and a game-high seven helpers.

Lesley juniors Ari Dimou (Manchester, N.H.) and Jackie Ewing (Hong Kong) each finished with eight points for the hosts. Dimou added five boards, two steals, one block, and one assist to her line on the night. Sophomore Emily Meade (Derry, N.H.) added three points and five rebounds.

The Lynx will return to their home court on Thursday when they play host to Bay Path University in an NECC matchup at 8:00 p.m. The Pride will also be back in conference play on Thursday as they travel to Wheelock College in a game scheduled to tip-off at 6:00 p.m.
