PRIDE SWEEP NECC WEEKLY HONORS, STONE NAMED ECAC ROOKIE

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College's Amanda Hawkesworth (Abington, Mass.) and Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) swept the New England Collegiate Conference's women's basketball weekly awards this week, it was announced on Monday. Hawkesworth was named the NECC Player of the Week for the third time, while Stone was named the league's top rookie for the sixth time this season.

Stone was also named to the Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III New England Rookie of the Week it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Hawkesworth helped lead the Pride to a pair of NECC wins this week, averaging 17 points on 55.6% shooting, 9.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.0 steal per game. Hawkesworth netted 22 points and grabbed four rebounds in just 25 minutes as the Pride defeated Becker, 102-25. She wrapped up the week with a double-double of 12 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, a block and a steal in a 92-54 victory against NECC second-place Elms.

Fellow forward Stone, helped lead the Pride to a 2-0 mark this week, averaging 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game. Stone recorded a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds in a 102-25 win over Becker. She followed that up by tying a program record with 36 points to go with 11 rebounds and four blocks in a 92-54 win over second-place Elms. For the week, the first year shot the ball at a 62.9% clip (22-of-35).

The Crimson and Gold return to the court when they travel to Lesley University on Tuesday night for a conference matchup against the Lynx with tip-off slated for 8:00 p.m.
