PRIDE HIT CENTURY MARK, ROLL PAST HAWKS

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College women's basketball team eclipsed the century mark for the second time this season with a 102-25 victory over Becker College in New England Collegiate Conference women's basketball action on Wednesday night.

The Pride stay perfect in NECC play and improve to 16-5 overall and 14-0 in the conference. Becker falls to 1-19 and 1-12 in league games.

All 12 players that checked into the game for Regis recorded at least two points led by Amanda Hawkesworth's (Abington, Mass.) game-high 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting. Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) added a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Janaya Bradley (New Haven, Conn.) and Shannon Hayes (Billerica, Mass.) chipped in 13 points apiece.

Bradley, the current NECC Player of the Week, now sits at 971 career points, only 29 shy of becoming the 15th member of the Regis 1,000 Point Club.

Becker was paced by 14 points from Brook Martel (Griswold, Conn.), who also added two rebounds and a pair of steals. Alycia Dery (Millville, Mass.) chipped in six points, while Alyssa Bond (Thompson, Conn.) and Gabrielle Gallo (Northport, N.Y.) also recorded buckets. Gallo posted a team-high six rebounds in the setback.

The Pride jumped out to an early 11-0 lead before Martel knocked down a layup at the 15:05 mark of the opening half. Regis continued its run of strong play by answering with a 21-0 run to make it a 32-2 lead with just under 10 minutes remaining. The Pride never looked back, building leads in excess of 46 points to take a 58-12 lead into the break.

Regis' hot-shooting continued into the second period as they shot 54.3% from the field in the half, and 55.3% from the field in the game to cruise to the 102-25 victory.

Emilee Marro (Bedford, Mass.) had an all-around game for the Pride with eight points, six assists, and six steals. Mikayla Murphy (Attleboro, Mass.) chipped in eight points, four rebounds, and a game-high seven assists. Alyssa Lanpher (Princeton, Mass.) had five assists, while Michaela Maguire (Revere, Mass.) had seven points and nine rebounds.

The Crimson and Gold are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Elms College for a 1:00 p.m. matchup with the Blazers. Becker will travel to Mitchell College on Thursday night for a 5:30 p.m. tip.
