HAWKESWORTH GRABS NECC, ECAC, & NEWBA WEEKLY HONORS

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College sophomore forward Amanda Hawkesworth (Abington, Mass.) has been named this week's New England Collegiate Conference and Corvias ECAC Player of the Week in women's basketball. Hawkesworth was also named to the New England Women's Basketball Association's (NEWBA) Weekly Honor Roll. 

Hawkesworth helped lead the Pride (13-4, 11-0 NECC) to a pair of conference wins last week.

In a 59-51 victory over Mitchell last Thursday, the sophomore recorded a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds to go with four assists and a pair of steals. She wrapped up the week with a program record 36 points and grabbed 24 rebounds (13 offensive) in the Pride's 90-67 win against Daniel Webster College. For the week, Hawkesworth averaged 24 points, 18.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.

This season, Amanda Hawkesworth is averaging 14.2 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. She leads the team in both scoring and rebounding.

The Crimson and Gold return to action on Tuesday night when they travel to Western Connecticut State University for a non-league matchup with the Colonials at 7:00 p.m.
