WESTON, Mass. – Regis College freshman Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) posted a double-double of 14 points and a career-high 22 rebounds – including 10 offensive boards – as the Pride defeated Lesley University, 91-39, on Wednesday night in New England Collegiate Conference women's basketball action.

Stone, the current four-time NECC Rookie of the Week, also added a pair of steals and a block for the Pride (10-4, 8-0 NECC).

Both teams struggled to find their shooting stroke early as Regis scored the first basket nearly three minutes into the game on an Amanda Hawkesworth (Abington, Mass.) put back layup. That would be the spark they needed as they went on a 20-1 run over the next five minutes of action to grab a 22-1 lead with 12:14 to play in the half.

Lesley (1-13, 1-6 NECC) ended the run on a Grace Amato (Sharon, Vt.) lay-in, and she recorded the Lynx second field goal of the game a minute later on a nice feed from Kelsey Lynch (Rumford, R.I.). The Pride continued to keep up the pressure on offense, building leads in excess of 39 points en route to a 48-10 lead headed into the break.

Stone notched her third double-double of the season with 12 points and 13 rebounds in the opening half. Janaya Bradley (New Haven, Conn.) and Linsay Bumila (Raynham, Mass.) added eight point apiece. Lesley was paced by Amato's four points, while Emily Meade (Derry, N.H.) and Jackie Ewing (Hong Kong, China) also recorded baskets in the frame.

Regis continued its strong play in the second half, leading by as many as 57 in the second period, to stay perfect in conference play this season.

Bradley and Marro each finished with 12 points apiece and combined for six rebounds and seven assists. Mikayla Murphy (Attleboro, Mass.) added seven points, four rebounds, and a game-high six assists. All 13 players that checked into the game for Regis had at least two points, with nine of them recording at least six points.

Lesley was paced by nine points apiece from Jackie Ewing and Grace Amato. Kelsey Lynch added six points, while Emily Meade and Ari Dimou (Manchester, N.H.) had five points apiece. Dimou and Kerry Flaherty (Woburn, Mass.) led the Lynx with six rebounds each.

The Crimson and Gold are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Southern Vermont College for a matchup with the Mountaineers, who sit at 7-1 in the NECC this season. Lesley travels to Bay Path University next Tuesday for an 8:00 p.m. game.
