PRIDE SWEEP NECC WEEKLY HONORS

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College's Amanda Hawkesworth (Abington, Mass.) and Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) swept the New England Collegiate Conference's women's basketball weekly awards this week, it was announced on Monday. Hawkesworth was named the NECC Player of the Week, while Stone was named the league's top rookie for the fourth consecutive time.

Hawkesworth averaged 11.7 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 3.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game in a 3-0 week for the Pride (9-4, 7-0 NECC). Hawkesworth scored 12 points and grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds as the Pride set a program record for points in a game in a 109-41 win over Bay Path. She followed that up with an all-around game of seven points, eight rebounds, eight assists, six steals, and a pair of blocks in a 95-28 win over Becker. She wrapped up the week with 16 points, six rebounds, three assists, and a pair of steals as Regis rallied for a 72-63 win over Elms.

Her frontcourt partner Brittany Stone had an equally strong week, averaging 16.7 points per game on 70% shooting, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks in three wins. Stone led the Pride with 17 points, six rebounds, and a pair of blocks in the win over Bay Path, and she followed that up with 19 points and eight rebounds in the win over Becker. On Saturday, Stone had 14 points, seven rebounds, two blocks, and two steals in the matchup with Elms.

The Crimson and Gold return to action on Wednesday night when they host Lesley University at 6:00 p.m.
