KEENE, N.H. – The Regis College women's basketball team dropped a 68-62 decision to William Paterson University on Tuesday afternoon in the second game of the Keene State University Holiday Tournament in Keene, N.H. The Pride will take on Anna Maria College in the Consolation Game on Wednesday afternoon in a contest scheduled for 12:00 p.m.

The Pioneers jumped out to a 16-8 lead with 13:01 to play in the opening half before a layup from Janaya Bradley (New Haven, Conn.) and a triple from Teresa Busiek (Arlington, Mass.) cut the deficit to 16-13 about two minutes later. An Emilee Marro (Bedford, N.H.) three tied the game at 16-all, and another Marro shot from beyond the arc at the seven minute mark tied the game at 21-21.

The two teams traded baskets over the next few minutes before back-to-back layups from Marro followed by a Busiek freethrow gave the Pride a 33-31 lead with 1:01 to play in the opening half. Busiek would add one more freebie before the break, but Mary Haines would score for WPU to make it a 34-33 game headed into the half.

William Paterson tied the score early in the second half, but the Pride took a 45-42 lead at the 14:33 mark following a Bradley and-one layup. Regis extended its lead to 50-44, after a Marro three-point play just over two minutes later.

Linsay Bumila (Raynham, Mass.) gave the Pride their largest lead of the game at 54-47 with 9:09 to play. William Paterson began to chip away and tied the game at 54-all after a Brittany Harden three-pointer. Emilee Marro answered with two freethrows for the Pride, but the Pioneers scored back-to-back layups to take a 60-56 lead with 4:52 to play.

A Bradley layup at the 2:56 mark made it a 60-59 game, but a quick 4-0 spurt from WPU put the Pioneers on top 64-59 as the game fell under a minute to play. A Marro three-pointer out of a timeout would make it a one-possession game at 64-62, but the Pride would eventually fall 68-62 as William Paterson knocked down four-straight freethrows to end the game.

Emilee Marro finished the contest with a game-high 22 points to go with five rebounds and four steals. Bradley joined her in double-figures with 13 points, while Busiek ended the game with 12 points and six rebounds.
