WALTHAM, Mass. - Sophomore Amanda Hawkesworth (Abington, Mass.) matched a career-high with 25 points and added 12 rebounds for her first double-double of the year as Regis cruised to a 67-47 win over Mount Ida on Sunday afternoon in the Consolation game of the Brandeis University Tip-Off Tournament.

Hawkesworth's efforts placed her on the All-Tournament Team as Regis (1-1) picked up their first win of the season. Mount Ida falls to 0-2.

The sophomore forward gave Regis a 15-7 lead early in the game and she followed it up with three-straight baskets minutes later to put the Pride on top, 21-14, with 7:37 to play in the first half. The Mustangs fought their way back into the game as an Angelique Martinez layup with less than a minute to play cut the deficit to 25-20 headed into the half.

Hawkesworth nearly had a double-double at halftime, scoring 13 points and grabbing nine rebounds in the first 20 minutes of play. Freshman Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) tallied eight points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Regis.

Mount Ida came out firing in the second half and a Shanell Nardone jumper at the 17:05 mark made it a 29-28 ballgame. Emilee Marro (Bedford, N.H.) answered with a three on the other end, which sparked a 12-0 run for Regis and pushed their lead to 41-28.

The Mustangs continued to hang around, making it a 43-36 game with 11:50 to play, but a Brittany Stone layup pushed the Pride lead back to double digits at 54-44, and Regis never looked back, ending the game on a 13-3 run to secure the 67-47 win.

Regis dominated the glass, outrebounding the Mustangs at a 50-33 clip including 20 offensive rebounds.

Brittany Stone also posted a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds on the day. Marro joined her in double-figures with 11 points, and added eight rebounds and three assists, while Janaya Bradley (New Haven, Conn.) chipped in eight points and seven rebounds. Alyssa Lanpher (Princeton, Mass.) swiped a game-high five steals in the win.

The Pride return to action on Wednesday night when they travel to Suffolk University for a non-league matchup with the Rams at 7:00 p.m.
