WESTON, Mass. - On Sunday, Feb. 9 the Regis College women's basketball team spent their day with the happiest and most passionate athletes after hosting the State Qualifier for the Special Olympics.

There were 14 teams in attendance, with each team playing two games. Members of the women's basketball team devoted their time by refereeing, keeping score, running registration, and entertaining the crowd with music.

Overall, the Regis student-athetes described it as both a great experience and wonderful opportunity to be able to help out children with special needs. They said the participating athletes were fun, excited, and such a joy to be around.
