SANTA FE NAMED NECC'S TOP COACH, THREE NAMED ALL-NECC

WESTON, Mass. – Head women's basketball coach Angela Santa Fe was recognized by her peers as the New England Collegiate Conference's Coach of the Year, it was announced on Monday afternoon by the league offices.

Junior guard Emilee Marro (Bedford, N.H.) was named to the NECC's All-Conference First Team, while senior Claire Ramonas (Portland, Maine) was named to the Second Team and junior Janaya Bradley (New Haven, Conn.) was named to the Honorable Mention squad.

Coach Santa Fe earns the NECC Coach of the Year award in only her first year at the helm of the program, leading Regis (23-4) to an unblemished 18-0 mark in the NECC and the Pride's second-straight NECC Championship and NCAA Tournament bid. She spent the previous two years as the top assistant to former head coach Julie Plant, who won the same award last season.

Marro earned her second consecutive First-Team selection, and was also named Honorable Mention in her freshman campaign. Marro helped lead the Pride to its third-straight 18-0 regular season averaging 14.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.7 steals per game in conference play. Marro ranks 8th in the league in scoring, 14th in field goal percentage (41%), 10th in steals, and 24th in rebounding in NECC games. She was also named the NECC Tournament MVP this past weekend.

Senior Claire Ramonas earns her third-straight All-NECC recognition after being named to the Second Team last season and the First Team back in 2011. Ramonas averaged 11.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 2.1 steals per game, while shooting 54.5% from the field in 17 NECC games this season. Ramonas finished the season ranked second in the league in field goal percentage, sixth in the league in steals, and 15th in the league in rebounding.

Ramonas currently ranks third all-time in program history in points scored with 1,236 and first in career field goal percentage (53.5%). She also ranks inside the top 10 in career rebounds (712), blocks (60), and steals (224).

Janaya Bradley rounds out the All-NECC selections with her first All-Conference selection. Bradley averaged 13.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game in 18 conference games this season. She ranked sixth in the NECC in field goal percentage (47%), 10th in three-pointers made (25), sixth in three point field goal percentage (32.9%), and 11th in scoring in NECC games.
