LEICESTER, Mass. – Regis College defeated Becker College, 70-48 in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's basketball action Saturday afternoon at the Leicester Gymnasium. The win lifts the Pride record to 12-4 (9-0 NECC), while the Hawks fall to 5-10 (5-4 NECC).

The Pride shot 41.5% from the field and scored 32 points off of turnovers in the victory.

Regis was led by junior guard Janaya Bradley (New Haven, Conn.), who went three-for-four from beyond the arch, scoring a game high 19 points. Bradley also blocked three shots and was an impressive 7-for-10 from the field. Classmate Emilee Marro (Bedford, N.H.) chipped in with 18 points and six boards. Senior Claire Ramonas (Portland, Maine) pulled down a team high eight rebounds.

Winning by just three points inside the halfway mark of the first half, Regis cruised to a 21-0 run over the last 8:53 to take a commanding 39-15 lead into the break. Bradley knocked down two of her three three-pointers during that stretch, while Marro had six of her points during the run.

The Pride carried their momentum into the second half, knocking down four straight points to extend their lead. Regis held Becker scoreless for 12:57 before senior guard Haley Ooms (Valatie, N.Y.) broke the drought with a layup.

Becker would outscore Regis, 33-31 in the second half, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit.

Ooms carried the Hawks with a double-double, scoring a team high 15 points, with a game high 14 rebounds. Ooms also dished out a game-high eight assists. Brooke Martel (Griswold, Conn.) tallied nine points, while Jacqueline Chila (Monroe, Conn.) finished with eight points.

Both teams return to action on Tuesday, January 21 when Becker travels to Elms College for a 6:00 p.m. tilt with the Blazers. Regis continues their road trip when they play Daniel Webster at 5:00 p.m.
