PRIDE TOO MUCH FOR EASTERN NAZARENE

Weston, Mass.—Regis College (10-7, 4-1 TCCC) was led by Jessica Page (Quincy, Mass.) with 20 points in its 72-65 The Commonwealth Coast Conference victory over Eastern Nazarene College (7-9, 1-4 TCCC) Saturday.

 

Page led all-scorers, was 41 percent (5-of-12) from the floor, 2-of-5 from behind the three-point line, and better than 57 percent (8-of-14) from the free-throw line.

 

Two other Regis College player’s tallied double figures. Stephanie Crawford (Rockland, Mass.) notched 18 points in her 30:00 minutes of play. She was 41 percent from the floor, and made 80 percent of her free throw attempts.

 

Sophomore Stefanie Wozmak (Auburn, N.H.) contributed 13 points for the Pride. Wozmak was an impressive 3-of-4 from behind the three-point line.

 

Similarly, Eastern Nazarene had three player’s post double-digit scores. Alexis Malloy (Washington, D.C.) led the way with 15 points in 39 minutes. Malloy also the only player to have a double-double adding 11 rebounds for the Lions.

 

She was 50 percent (6-of-12) from the field, and perfect on all three of her free throws.

 

Shardae Brown (Waterbury, Conn.) and Christine Tucker (Antioch, Cailf.) finished with 13 and 10 points respectively.

 

Brown was 55 percent shooting from the field. Tucker was better than 75 percent from the free-throw line for Eastern Nazarene.

 

As a team Regis was 73 percent from the line. Comparatively, Eastern Nazarene was 82 percent (13-of-16).

 

Regis made its mark forcing Eastern Nazarene to commit 26 turnovers on the night. The Lions made Regis commit 17.

 

Eastern Nazarene had a better shooting percentage for the game from the field (.453), three-point line (.400), and free-throw line (.813).

 

Eastern Nazarene will face Simmons College on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at Simmons. Regis will host the University of New England on the same day at 5:30 p.m.
