NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Regis College was defeated in both games of Monday's doubleheader at Central Park Sports Complex, losing, 8-2, to Kean University and, 11-4, to Montclair State University.

Game One: Kean 8, Regis 2

Regis got the ball rolling early when Andria Braga (Rehoboth, Mass.) singled to centerfield and advanced to second after a misplay by the centerfielder. Diana Petrarca (Coventry, R.I.) drove her in on the next at-bat, slapping a single to center field giving the Pride a 1-0 lead.

Kean scored two runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead from the Pride and scored at least one run each inning until the fifth where they scored three runs to take an 8-2 lead over Regis.

The Pride took advantage of an error by the Cougars in the sixth inning with Petrarca reaching second on the play, later being driven in by an RBI single by Kayla Morrill (Lynn, Mass.)

Kean had two home run hitters in Sydney Hixenbaugh and Eliza Filus with Hixenbaugh also striking out four batters in a complete game victory and Filus going 3-for-4 with four RBIs.

Game Two: Montclair State 11, Regis 4

In the bottom of the second inning, Ciara Collins (Lynn, Mass.) reached first on a lead-off single and later advanced to second on a walk by Madi Zancan (Cumberland, R.I.). On the ensuing at-bat, Bianca Burke (Cambridge, Mass.) hit a bases-clearing double off the top of the right field wall to give Regis a 2-1 lead. Chloe Beland (Southborough, Mass) was then hit by a pitch followed by a Braga double down the left field line to score another run and put runners at second and third.

Montclair State retook the lead in the top of the fifth when Amber Reed hit a double over the center fielder's head to drive in a pair of runs and was later driven in by an error at second to give Montclair a 5-3 lead over the Pride.

The Pride got one back in the bottom half of the inning when Braga singled to right field and reached second when a Marissa Allen (Coventry, R.I.) ground ball was mishandled by the shortstop. She was later driven in by Collins who hit a single up the middle, leaving the Pride trailing, 5-4.

The Red Hawks built upon their lead in the sixth inning, scoring six runs in the inning off a Regis error and RBIs by Kaylee DelosSantos, Stephanie Seretis, and Liz Mullen.
