Regis Softball Drops Doubleheader in Florida
CLERMONT, Fla. - Regis College dropped both games of its doubleheader against Neumann University and Chatham University in non-conference collegiate softball action at Legends Way Ballfields.

Neumann 13, Regis 1

After a quick first two innings, Neumann struck first in the third inning when Aubrie Breisblatt singled and Bri Reim followed up with a walk. The pair advanced on a passed ball and Breisblatt was driven in on a groundout by Christina Ludovico. Reim then scored off a single by Emily Reid. Later in the inning, Elizabeth Shire would single to drive in a third run.

The score remained 3-0 until the seventh inning when Neumann took advantage of Regis errors along with collecting four hits of its own, leading to 10 runs in the inning.

The Pride showed some life in the bottom of the seventh when Kayla Morrill (Lynn, Mass.) drove a leadoff single to center field and scored on a single from Ciara Collins (Lynn, Mass.).

Chatham 4, Regis 3

Andria Braga (Rehoboth, Mass.) led off for Regis and hit a double to the left-center field gap on the first pitch of the game. Diana Petrarca (Coventry, R.I.) reached first on a fielder's choice, but the Pride were unable to score in the first, leaving both base runners stranded.

With the game tied at 1-1, Morrill walked in the top of the sixth inning and advanced to second and third on wild pitches. Sarah Fawcett (Londonderry, N.H.) walked on the ensuing at-bat to put runners at first and third. Abby Erickson (Worcester, Mass.) then hit a single that snuck by the shortstop, driving in Morrill to give Regis a 2-1 lead.

In the bottom of the sixth, Lauren McNany and Jenna Mulet both stole bases to put runners at second and third with one out for Chatham. Kaitlyn Collins hit a double up the middle, driving in a run to tie the game at 2-2.

Regis continued to get on base, as Bianca Burke (Cambridge, Mass.) reached first in the top of the seventh on a walk. Braga laid down a sacrifice bunt on the next at-bat to advance Burke to second, setting up Erin Murphy (Bedford, N.H.), who launched a deep fly ball to left field that was misplayed by the left fielder, allowing the go-ahead run to score.

In the bottom of the seventh, Chatham showed patience at the plate, loading the bases on three walks before a free pass drawn by McNany brought home the game-tying run. With the bases still loaded, Justine Boyle hit a walk-off single to end the game.

Regis College (1-6) wraps up its Florida trip on Friday, Mar. 4, with a doubleheader against Sage at 12:15 and Northwestern (Minn.) at 2:30.
