Softball Picked 10th in GNAC Preseason Poll

WINTHROP, Mass. - The Regis (Mass.) softball team has been chosen to finish 10th in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, as the conference's Preseason Poll was released by the conference office on Thursday afternoon.

Johnson & Wales, the three-time defedning conference champion, was nearly unanimously chosen atop the poll, receiving 12 out of 13 first place votes for 168 points. Finishing second and receiving the final first place vote was Suffolk University. The complete poll results are listed below.

Regis reached the double-elimination round in last season's New England Collegiate Conference tournament, but fell to Newbury on a seventh inning rally to end its season. The 2018 season will be the Pride's first in the GNAC.

The Pride opens its 2018 season in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on March 4 against Hilbert College. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
