Myrtle Beach Softball Spring Break Day 3: The First Double Header

Myrtle Beach Softball Spring Break Day 3: The First Double Header

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Regis (Mass.) softball team played in its first double header of the season on Monday at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic. The Pride fell in both games, but the weather in Myrtle Beach was perfect for softball.

The Pride started off the day with a team breakfast at the hotel before heading over to the field for the double header. In game one, the Pride fought through to the seventh inning before its comeback bid fell short against Randolph, losing 4-2 after stranding runners on second and third in the top of the seventh. The Pride's bats were silenced in game two, as Regis was stifled by strong pitching against Mary Washington. The team lost by a final score of 11-1.

Upon returning to the hotel, the Pride had a few hours of down time and spent it lounging by the pool and walking down the beach. The Pride capped a long day at dinner at a local Italian restaurant with Regis associate athletic director Mark Clemente.

Regis will get a day off on Tuesday before returning to the field for another double header on Wednesday against Cedar Crest at 9:30 a.m. and Lehman at 11:30 a.m.
